Challenge:
To market and highlight the advantages of Teradata, a data warehousing solution, in a fun and meaningful way.
Solution:
Multi Image approached the project by creating two superheroes, Frank and Kyle, otherwise known as, The Datamen. Frank and Kyle, database administrators by trade, Teradata superheroes by chance, are "saving the world one data warehouse at a time." Revealing the high-performance support capabilities that NCR's Teradata solutions provide, Frank and Kyle educate victims of inferior databases on the advantages of Teradata. Through action-packed mini-movies including high-speed rescues via a Dodge Viper, a helicopter and motorcycles, Frank and Kyle have become instant celebrities to many NCR customers. Two other sequels to the original video were produced as a result of their popularity, and the Datamen even appeared at an industry trade show for celebrity "meet and greet" picture opportunities. Winner of a 2001 CINE Golden Eagle Award, as well as a Gold Award from the prestigious 2001 WorldFest Houston International Film Festival, The Datamen have earned substantial recognition from within the data warehousing industry and remain an invaluable marketing tool for NCR and their premiere product, Teradata.
